We understand the need for you to be able to relate and communicate with the practitioner you are seeing, and we link this important need to a high standard of training and qualification. Listed below are qualifications held by practitioners at the Centre.

Please note that this list is for the major trainings our practitioners have undergone, and the many additional short courses which have been attended will not be listed here because of space considerations. If you require further details of qualifications held or specialised courses attended, feel free to enquire via our contact page.

Qualifications: The Centre offers a wide range of approaches, modalities and qualifications to meet our clients’ needs, and all our Practitioners are required to be in continuing professional and personal development:

  • 4 years UKCP Accredited Psychotherapy Training in Transactional Analysis
  • Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Counselling
  • Diploma in Psychotherapy
  • Degree in Psychology
  • MSc in Counselling Psychology
  • Doctorate in Neuropsychology (St Andrews University)
  • MSc in Forensic Psychology
  • Diploma in Counselling
  • Certificate in Hypnotherapy

We are aware of the varied and often baffling lists of qualifications that people seeking professional assistance face, and that many ‘qualifications’ are quite easy to obtain. The lists of qualifications above have all taken at least three years to obtain, and up to 10 years continuing study for example, for a Doctorate in Neuropsychology. On average our practitioners have had over 1000 hours training in Counselling and/or Psychotherapy, with additional requirements for professional and personal development.

Professional Memberships:

  • United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy
  • Institute of Transactional Analysis
  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • British Psychological Society/American Psychological Society
